Rita Perry
Co-Founder
I am Rita Perry, and my journey has never been a straight line. It has been a collection of seasons, challenges, opportunities, and pivotal moments that have shaped the person I am today.
I am a mother of five grown children, and being a mother has been one of the most meaningful roles of my life. For more than a decade, I chose to be a stay-at-home mom while my children were young. That season taught me lessons that no classroom could provide—patience, responsibility, resilience, sacrifice, organization, and the importance of investing in people and their potential.
My professional journey began before motherhood, when I worked as an executive administrative assistant supporting a contract negotiator for a large health insurance company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After raising my children, I returned to the workforce and spent 15 years as an office administrator at a small medical clinic. During those years, I learned the importance of showing up, solving problems, building relationships, and being willing to learn something new.
I also learned that it is never too late to invest in yourself.
While working, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2013. When the physician I worked with eventually retired, I found myself standing at another crossroads. Instead of viewing that transition as an ending, I chose to see it as the beginning of something new.
That decision led me into the pharmaceutical contract services industry, where I have continued to grow professionally and have had the opportunity to move into accounting. That next step encouraged me to pursue my MBA in Accounting and deepen my understanding of business, finance, and organizational growth.
Looking back, I can see a common thread throughout every chapter of my life: growth often begins at a crossroads. That belief is part of the inspiration behind Pivotal Genesis Ventures.
I believe that pivotal moments can become the genesis of something meaningful. An idea can become a business. A challenge can become an opportunity. A season of uncertainty can become the beginning of a new vision.
Pivotal Genesis Ventures represents my desire to recognize those opportunities and build something purposeful from them. It is more than a business name to me. It represents where I have been, what I have learned, and where I believe I am going.
My vision is to create and support ventures that are built on strong foundations, thoughtful strategy, sustainable growth, and meaningful impact. I want to be part of creating opportunities that help people and businesses move forward and reach their potential.
I bring to this vision the perspective of someone who has experienced reinvention firsthand. I know what it feels like to start over, to learn something new, to balance competing responsibilities, and to step into unfamiliar territory with faith that the next chapter can be better than the last.
I don’t believe success is defined by having everything figured out from the beginning. I believe success is found in being willing to grow, to adapt, to keep learning, and to recognize the possibilities within every new beginning.
Outside of work and school, I enjoy crafting, sewing, puzzles, and baking. My husband and I also enjoy traveling, exploring the country, and discovering new experiences together. These simple parts of my life remind me to appreciate creativity, curiosity, family, and the journey itself.
Steven Perry
Co-Founder
Steve Perry is a seasoned transportation professional, veteran, and dependable leader with more than 30 years of experience moving a wide range of loads and weights across the United States. His career reflects a strong commitment to safety, responsibility, attention to detail, and getting the job done right.
Steve’s professional foundation was built during more than two decades of service in the United States Army, where he worked in diesel maintenance and transportation from 1986 through 2009. That experience helped shape the discipline, technical knowledge, work ethic, and sense of responsibility that continue to define his approach today.
Following his military career, Steve continued building extensive experience in the transportation industry, working with a variety of companies and handling everything from automotive parts and steel coils to flatbed loads, tankers, chemicals, roofing materials, and other specialized freight. His experience includes both team and solo operations and a wide range of trailer configurations.
Throughout his career, Steve has developed a reputation for dependability, careful vehicle inspections, adaptability, and an unwavering focus on safety. His Class A CDL, along with X, T, and P endorsements, reflects the breadth of his transportation experience and technical capabilities.
Steve has also brought his experience into leadership, serving as a transportation hiring manager and gaining perspective beyond the driver’s seat. This combination of hands-on transportation knowledge and leadership experience gives him a practical understanding of the people, systems, and operational demands required to keep an organization moving forward.
For Steve, work has always been about more than simply reaching a destination. It is about discipline, preparation, trust, and responsibility. Whether maintaining equipment, navigating the nation’s highways, managing complex loads, or helping others succeed, he approaches each responsibility with the same steady mindset: do the job safely, do it well, and be someone others can depend on.
As part of the vision behind Pivotal Genesis Ventures, Steve brings a perspective grounded in real-world experience. His journey demonstrates the value of consistency, resilience, and knowing how to navigate changing conditions while keeping the destination in sight.
Steve believes that meaningful success is built one decision, one mile, and one opportunity at a time. His story is a testament to the idea that strong foundations are built through experience—and that every journey begins with a commitment to keep moving forward.
